First F828 Images

My F828 arrived one day ago and this is my first outing with the camera. I had to go shopping so I took the camera along. Most of the images were taken in program mode, with the ISO set on auto. It seems that the camera on auto ISO never changes from 64 no matter how slow the shutter gets, so on a few images I manually changed it to 100 and 200. At 200 allot more noise was introduced, particularly when the aperture got smaller. It seems that the camera is programmed to keep the ISO at 64 with the lens opened up, this seems to keep the noise down. I haven't tried 400 or 800 yet, but I can assume that the images will get progressively more noisy. There has been allot of discussion about chromatic aberration on the DPR forums. That didn't seem to be a problem in these images.

The camera is a joy to use. The control dial makes changing various settings much easier than my 707. The manual zoom is also a big plus. I never liked the motorized zoom on my other Sony cameras. The ability to use compact flash is nice as the memory costs are half of what a memory stick costs.

I have resized these images from the original 8 megapixel images, but did not retouch or correct any of them. I had the color set to normal in the camera which gives the typical Sony saturation, there is a setting called "real" which I will try in the future to see what the difference is.
